Do I need to have a building permit in City limits? Yes, if you are doing any construction to the outside of your house that changes the footprint, you are required to have a building permit. If you are installing a fence, adding on a new deck or putting up a shed, you will need a building permit. If you are putting on a new roof or new siding you do not need a building permit. There is a $25.00 fee for building permits.
How do I get a hold of someone regarding a possible water main break or sewer back up after hours?
To report a possible water main break or sewer back up, after hours or on a weekend, please call the non-emergency number for dispatch, which is (573) 897-0911. They will be able to get in touch with a city employee.
How often is the recycling bin picked up?
The recycling bin located behind City Hall is picked up twice a week, On Tuesday and Friday. The time of day varies from week to week. It is suggested that you bring your recyclables on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Friday evening or Saturday morning. If the recycling bin is full do NOT leave your recyclables outside of the bin! This could result in you receiving a ticket for littering.
